HyOrc and OnEnergy partner on Bulgarian waste-to-green methanol project
HyOrc, a developer of waste-to-green methanol technology, has signed an agreement with Bulgaria’s OnEnergy for the development of a waste-to-green methanol production facility.

OnEnergy’s project is planned near Bulgaria’s Port of Varna and aims to target marine bunkering demand, HyOrc told ENGINE.
HyOrc has been appointed as a technology partner for the project, focusing on thermochemical conversion of Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) into green methanol.
The planned facility is expected to process around 50,000 mt of RDF per year, equivalent to roughly 150–155 mt per day over about 330 operating days and produce approximately 38–42 tonnes of methanol per day, depending on the final engineering configuration, HyOrc said.
