Maersk decarbonisation centre to partner GCMD on pilot projects and research

Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping and Singapore-based Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD) aim to accelerate emission reductions in the shipping industry through sharing knowledge and expertise.

The duo have agreed to a knowledge partnership agreement to combine their research capabilities and best practices to explore and develop zero-carbon technologies.

They will work on pilot projects to identify and create green corridors for the shipping industry.

Lessons from pilot projects and trials can be inputs for future research and form feedback loops to refine pathways towards net-zero shipping, says GCMD’s chief Professor Lynn Loo.
