The vessel was launched at the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea and will be delivered to Maersk this summer.
The 2,100 TEU-capacity dual-fuelled methanol feeder vessel will operate on a shipping route between Rotterdam and the Bay of Bothnia in the northernmost part of the Baltic Sea.
Feeder vessels are medium-sized containerships. They are used to collect cargo from different ports and larger vessels to central container terminals.
The vessel will be equipped with a dual-fuel engine from German engine maker MAN Energy Solutions, which can run on methanol or conventional marine fuels.
Maersk has signed offtake agreements with 10 methanol producers to procure bio and e-methanol for its fleet of 19 methanol-powered dual-fuel vessels on order.
