The vessels will each have a capacity of 18,600 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) and will be equipped with dual-fuel engines that can operate on conventional marine fuel or LNG. Deliveries are scheduled between 2029 and 2030.

Maersk ordered 20 LNG dual-fuel container ships in 2024, and earlier this month it took delivery of the first vessel in a series of six methanol-capable newbuilds. Four sister methanol dual-fuel vessels are scheduled for delivery this year, with another due early next year.

Including the latest order, Maersk now has a total of 33 vessels on order.
