MPA invites proposals to scale up LNG bunkering in Singapore
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has called for proposals to develop scalable solutions for sea-based LNG reloading, complementing Singapore's existing onshore LNG bunkering storage and jetty facilities.

The Expression of Interest (EoI) aims to explore the supply of e/bio-methane as a marine fuel at the port.
In Singapore, LNG bunker sales in the first ten months of this year reached 388,000 mt, surpassing last year’s total, according to preliminary data from the port authority.
The EOI invites proposals focusing on scaling up sea-based reloading operations, including ship-to-barge LNG transfer. It also aims to enable the supply of LNG alternatives such as liquefied bio-methane and use floating platforms to enhance safety and efficiency in bunkering. Proposals should additionally address measures to mitigate methane slip on a well-to-wake basis.
Participation is open to entities without an existing LNG bunkering license, and participants are expected to propose operational models for sea-based LNG reloading starting in 2025.
The last date for submissions is 28 February 2025
