Scale Green Energy will also physically deliver LNG and liquefied biomethane (LBM) stems to bunker buyers. The vessel, Mistral LNG, will join Scale Green Energy’s existing LNG bunkering fleet, which currently comprises three vessels supplying LNG across southern Europe.
Mistral LNG will also deliver LNG and LBM in the Strait of Gibraltar, the Canary Islands and other Atlantic markets, Enagás said.
LNG bunkering demand in the Iberian Peninsula and southern Europe is expected to "continue increasing steadily" in the coming years, it added.
Spanish gas importer Naturgy will charter the vessel from 2028 through a long-term agreement. It will procure the LNG and liquified biomethane (LBM) for bunkering.
The fuel will be loaded at Enagás regasification terminals and physically delivered by Scale Green Energy via its bunkering fleet.
“All seven [of its] Spanish regasification plants are already equipped to supply LNG for bunkering, and those in Barcelona, Cartagena, Huelva, and Gijón have already begun supplying BioLNG to ships and tankers,” Enagás said.
