Nordic Marine Oil and Neste to offer 0.1% sulphur biofuel blend in Scandinavia

The biofuel blend will be produced at Neste’s Porvoo refinery in Finland and later supplied by Danish bunker supplier Nordic Marine Oil.

Nordic Marine Oil claims the biofuel component of the fuel blend could reduce greenhouse emissions by 80% without any modifications to vessels.

“We support shipping companies moving towards carbon neutrality and are introducing the Neste Marine 0.1 Co-processed marine fuel with an immediate emission reduction impact,” says Neste’s Marine Fuels & Services head Sveta Ukkonen.

Nordic Marine Oil says the biofuel blend is readily available in Danish ports where it operates storage tanks and barges.
