Northstar looks to supply beyond ARA

Northstar Bunkering said it will be deploying a bunker tanker in the North Sea aiming to supply ports beyond the ARA hub.

It plans to offer HSFO, VLSFO and LSMGO supplies in any of the following ports, depending on demand:

• Emden, Wilhelmshaven, Bremerhaven and Bremen in Germany
• Montoir, Brest Le Havre, Calais and Dunkirk in France
• Ports along the English Channel and the UK's east coast, including in the River Thames, Tees, Tyne and Humber

The supplier said the bunker tanker could also supply off port limits in anchorage areas and in the offshore areas in the English Channel, wherever bunkering is allowed.

The bunker tanker that it plans to charter will be capable of supplying B24 biofuel blends along with the conventional grades, a company representative told ENGINE.

Northstar said it will start offering fuels in the German, French and UK ports from mid-November, and that it could add another tanker depending upon demand later.
