Upon delivery, Norway-based shipping company Ocean Yield will lease the vessels to New York-listed petrochemical firm Braskem and its subsidiaries for 15 years.

Methanol is a popular choice for decarbonizing the shipping sector because of its zero-emission potential. This alternative marine fuel has been in the news lately.

Singapore port has recently completed its first-ever ship-to-ship methanol bunkering operation, and China's first dual-fuel methanol bunker ship got class approval.
