OOCL unveils second methanol dual-fuel vessel

Hong Kong-based shipping firm Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has unveiled the second vessel in its planned fleet of seven methanol-capable newbuilds.

OOCL Grace is the second of seven planned 24,000-TEU methanol dual-fuel container ships.

The vessel can run on methanol as well as conventional marine fuels. OOCL has not confirmed where it will be deployed upon delivery.

The first vessel in the planned fleet was delivered earlier this year and recently completed a bio-methanol bunkering operation at China's Qingdao Port.

Beyond its methanol-capable orders, OOCL has also ordered 12 LNG-capable vessels with deliveries expected between 2028 and 2030.
