Under the programme, PSP Energy will balance out the carbon emissions from the fuel it uses. Since some emissions are hard to avoid - especially from diesel - Shell helps by calculating those emissions and offsetting them from its global portfolio of environmental projects. Shell also provides a certificate to confirm the emissions have been compensated.
The agreement builds on their earlier participation, where Shell retired 729 carbon credits on their behalf for emissions linked to fuel used in 2023.
PSP Energy supplies marine fuel oil and MGO at multiple ports across Malaysia, using a fleet of three bunker vessels, according to its website.
