Spanish energy company Repsol and shipbuilder Navantia have signed a collaboration agreement to develop decarbonisation solutions for the maritime sector.
The new low carbon fuel will represent a robust alternative for the short and medium-term decarbonisation of the maritime sector, says Repsol.
As per the agreement, Repsol will formulate a wide range of low-carbon fuels through its technology center- Repsol Technology Lab. Whereas Navantia will provide technical knowledge of the engine and test benches.
The two companies will jointly evaluate the performance of new low carbon fuel while focusing on the technical and economic feasibility of this new technology.
