Gate terminal, an LNG import terminal on Maasvlakte in Rotterdam, has launched a "Call for Expression of Interest" for the construction of a new jetty. It will assess market demand and gather input from potential stakeholders. Interested parties can submit their expressions of interest by 12 April.
Currently, LNG bunkering and small-scale ship loading are conducted at Jetty 3 in Gate terminal. However, due to the high occupancy of Jetty 3 and growing demand for LNG bunkering in the region, the terminal operator plans to develop an additional jetty, named Jetty 4, to cater to this growing demand.
“The new jetty is an important step in reducing GHG emissions towards the marine sector by facilitating services for LNG, Bio-LNG and synthetic LNG,” Gate terminal stated. “Providing shore power to reduce NOX and GHG emissions during the stay at the jetty is in the scope of the project,” it added.
