The proposed hub brings together power generation, ammonia loading and bunkering operations, as well as charging infrastructure for electric vessels, creating a multi-purpose facility aimed at supporting the maritime industry's energy transition.
ABS assessed the design in line with relevant standards and requirements, including those related to ammonia fuel systems, lithium-ion battery technology and power service installations.
While the design was unveiled in Singapore, the company has yet to announce plans for the commercial deployment of the hub.
