Singapore bio-bunker and LNG sales drop in September
Singapore sold approximately 3,800 mt/day of bio-bunkers in September, down from around 4,200 mt/day recorded in August, according to preliminary figures from the port authority.

Changes in Singapore alternative fuel sales between August and September:
- Bio-VLSFO sales down from 94,000 mt to 72,000 mt
- Bio-HSFO sales up from 35,000 mt to 43,000 mt
- Bio-LSMGO sales down from 2,000 mt to nil
- B100 sales down from 4,800 mt to 4,500 mt
- LNG sales down from 67,000 mt to 48,000 mt
Singapore’s bio-blended bunker sales fell by 12% in September, marking the third straight monthly decline. Total sales stood at 115,000 mt, down from 130,000 mt in August. Of this, around 72,000 mt was VLSFO blended with biofuel—typically at a 24% blend ratio in Singapore—while the remaining 43,000 mt was HSFO with a bio component. No bio-blended LSMGO sales were recorded in September.
From January to September, total biofuel bunker sales reached 1.14 million mt, about 2.2 times higher than the 515,000 mt sold during the same period last year.
LNG bunker sales also declined in September after hitting a record 67,000 mt in August, which had surpassed the previous peak of 55,000 mt in June. Average daily LNG sales fell by around 500 mt to 1,600 mt, bringing total sales for January–September to nearly 401,000 mt, compared with 338,000 mt a year earlier.
Sales of B100 (100% biofuel) were recorded for the sixth consecutive month this year, totaling about 4,500 mt in September—down slightly from 4,800 mt in August. In contrast, no methanol bunker sales have been reported so far this year.
