Singapore bio-bunker and LNG sales rose in May
Singapore sold about 4,500 mt/day of bio-bunkers in May, a sharp increase from approximately 3,700 mt/day in April, according to preliminary data from the port authority.

Changes in Singapore alternative fuel sales between April and May:
- Bio-VLSFO sales up from 76,000 mt to 96,000 mt
- Bio-HSFO sales up from 33,000 mt to 41,000 mt
- Bio-LSMGO sales up from 1,200 mt to 2,000 mt
- Bio-ULSFO sales down from 700 mt to nil
- B100 sales up from 300 mt to 1,900 mt
- LNG sales up from 42,000 mt to 45,000 mt
Singapore’s bio-blended bunker sales rose by 25% in May, rebounding after a decline in the previous month.
Total sales reached 139,000 mt, up from 111,000 mt in April. Of this, around 96,000 mt was VLSFO blended with a bio component - typically 24% in Singapore - while 41,000 mt was HSFO blended with biofuel.
Bio-blended LSMGO made up the remaining 2,000 mt. No bio-blended ULSFO sales were recorded in May.
For the January–May period, total biofuel bunker sales reached 610,000 mt - nearly three times higher than the 241,000 mt recorded during the same period last year.
Meanwhile, LNG bunker sales rose for a third straight month. Some 1,450 mt/day of LNG was sold, up from 1,400 mt/day in April.
Total LNG bunker sales for the first five months of the year stood at nearly 189,000 mt, up from 160,000 mt during the same period last year.
B100 (100% biofuel) appeared in the sales data for the third time this year, with around 1,900 mt sold in May.
No methanol or ammonia bunker sales have been reported so far this year.
