Singapore’s bio-bunker sales tumble in June, LNG sales also falls

July 15, 2026

Singapore sold approximately 1,200 mt/day of bio-bunkers in June, down from around 1,500 mt/day in May, according to preliminary data from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.

Changes in Singapore alternative fuel sales from May to June:

  • Bio-VLSFO sales down from 36,000 mt to 31,000 mt
  • Bio-HSFO sales down from 12,000 mt to 5,000 mt
  • B100 sales down from 13,000 mt to 1,500 mt
  • LNG sales down from 70,000 mt to 55,000 mt

Singapore's sales of bio-blended bunker fuels fell sharply for a third consecutive month in June, dropping 25% to a multi-year low of 36,000 mt. Total sales were approximately 77% lower than the 155,000 mt recorded in the same month last year.

Of the total volume sold in June, around 31,000 mt comprised VLSFO blended with biofuel, typically at a 24% blend ratio in Singapore, while a further 5,000 mt consisted of HSFO containing a biofuel component. No sales of bio-blended LSMGO, bio-blended MDO, bio-blended MGO or bio-blended ULSFO were reported during the month.

LNG bunker sales also declined by 22% in June after reaching a multi-year high of 70,000 mt in May. Average daily LNG bunker sales fell by roughly 400 mt to 1,800 mt/day. However, cumulative LNG bunker sales for the January–June period rose to nearly 318,000 mt, up from 244,000 mt during the same period last year.

Meanwhile, B100 (100% biofuel) bunker sales were reported for the third consecutive month, with approximately 1,500 mt sold in June, down sharply from around 13,000 mt in May.

No methanol bunker sales were reported for the fourth consecutive month, while no ammonia bunker sales have been recorded so far this year.
