Caribbean LNG is a joint venture between Texas-based energy firm Eagle LNG Partners and Antigua Power Company (APC).

The MiniLNG terminal will be set up to expand LNG supply throughout the Eastern Caribbean. It will include vacuum insulated storage tanks and a regasification system to feed APC’s 40 MW power plant in the island of Antigua.

Indian cryogenic equipment company INOXCVA will design and engineer the project. INOXCVA says the terminal project will be similar to the Multifunctional MiniLNG Terminal in Scotland.

Caribbean LNG says bio-LNG could be introduced into the fuel mix, which it claims will contribute to reduce carbon emissions in Antigua.
