Spain and Morocco to establish green shipping corridor
The two countries have tied up to establish a green shipping between the ports of Tangier in Morocco and Tarifa in Spain.

Over 200 stakeholders and authoritative bodies from both countries have collaborated on this public-private project, including Spanish ferry company Baleària.
Baleària seeks to build two fully-electric fast ferries with zero carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and that project involves installing shore power in both Tangier and Tarifa.
The company has not provided a timeline for the project.
Green corridors are shipping routes that actively demonstrate that low- and zero-emission fuels can be used. These corridors are typically collaborations between shipping companies, energy suppliers, port authorities and others.
Dozens of other green corridors have been proposed around the world, including most recently a corridor between South Korea and Australia that could involve ships operated by container liner HMM or car carrier Hyundai Glovis sailing on green fuels by 2029.
