The two vessels will be on long-term charters to the Greek shipping firm Attica Group, which has an option to purchase them and potentially charter two more vessels. They are expected to be delivered in April 2027.
Methanol-ready means that the vessel will not be capable of running on methanol upon delivery, but that it will have the option to be retrofitted for methanol propulsion in the future. This implies that it will run on fossil-based marine fuels upon delivery.
Stena RoRo has not provided any details on if or when it will retrofit the vessels for methanol propulsion.
The Swedish shipowner has 15 confirmed orders for RoRo/RoPax vessels at the CMI Jinling (Weihai) shipyard, with 10 ships already delivered.
