The 5,900-TEU ship is equipped with HD Hyundai’s methanol dual-fuel engine, capable of running on both methanol and conventional marine fuels.
The company has not revealed further details such as the vessel’s name or owner. This follows Tsuneishi’s first methanol dual-fuel vessel launched in August 2025.
The global methanol-capable fleet currently comprises 78 vessels, with a further 364 scheduled for delivery by 2030, according to DNV data. Of these, 203 are container ships—highlighting the segment’s strong shift toward methanol propulsion.
