UECC takes delivery of LNG dual-fuel vessel
Norwegian vehicle carrier company United European Car Carriers (UECC) has taken delivery of an LNG dual-fuel pure car and truck carrier (PCTC).

The Blue Heritage, a PCTC with a capacity of 7,000 vehicles, is fitted with dual-fuel engines that can run on both LNG and conventional marine fuels.
UECC plans to operate the vessel using liquefied biomethane (LBM), or bio-LNG, which is composed of roughly 99.8% methane. LNG-capable ships can use pure LBM or LBM-LNG blends without the need for technical modifications.
Last month, UECC announced that using LBM will make its fleet overcompliant with FuelEU Maritime regulations, allowing the company to generate surplus compliance credits for sale.
The Blue Heritage will be deployed on the North-South route between the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, with regular calls to Turkey’s Yarimca port, alongside Efesan and Autoport.
However, UECC has not provided further details, including the name of the shipbuilder for this new vessel.
