UK to phase out Russian petroleum imports - Politico

The UK government is due to announce a tapering of Russian oil and gas imports over the coming months.
Extending the timeframe rather than a direct, outright ban on Russian oil imports is aimed at letting “the markets adjust and prevent people rushing to the petrol pumps,” Politico journalists Alex Wickham and Emilio Casalicchio report.
They say a government announcement is set for 16.00 GMT today.
