With the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, Vopak aims to redevelop the site as a green energy hub to support renewable energy, including ammonia and sustainable fuels. The companies will also help decarbonize the industrial cluster on the Antwerp port platform.
The 105-hectare site is well connected via road, rail, river and deep sea and has pipeline connections that can transport propylene, ethylene, CO2 and hydrogen.
“The site’s extensive size, strategic location and connectivity to Northwest Europe offer unparalleled opportunities,” Vopak’s president for Europe and Africa Patrick van der Voort says.
