Biofuel Bunker Snapshot: Lower feedstock costs weighs on Rotterdam’s bio-bunker prices
Dutch ZRE A value for B100 estimated at $563/mt
Antwerp’s B30-VLSFO at a $105/mt discount to Lisbon
Singapore’s B30-VLSFO $50/mt costlier than Fujairah's

Rotterdam’s B30-VLSFO (POMEME) price has declined by $20/mt over the past week.
Prima Markets’ assessed ARA POMEME barge price has dropped by $22/mt over the same period. The lower feedstock costs seem to have weighed on the benchmark, while a $14/mt rise in the port’s VLSFO benchmark has only partially offset the decline.
Lead times of at least a week are recommended for B30 blends in the ARA. All grades are available, but some suppliers operate with higher minimum quantities than others.
The Netherlands has transitioned from the Dutch HBE system to the new ERE system from 1 January.
Dutch ERE tickets for advanced B100 sold in the bunker fuel market, known as ZRE As, have been valued at €165/mtCO2e. This has translated to about $563/mtFuel for B100 made from advanced feedstocks such as palm oil mill effluent (POME).
This is around $197/mt lower than the Prima-assessed HBE A ticket value for the same marine biofuel. The HBE value has shot up amid strong hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) demand in the road sector, Prima said. Unlike in the new ERE system, HBE As are tradeable across sectors and more impacted by road fuels than ZRE As.
Antwerp’s B30-VLSFO (UCOME) price has gained $12/mt on the week, while Gibraltar’s B30-VLSFO (UCOME) price has gained $16/mt.
The B30 blend in Antwerp stands at discounts of $43/mt to Gibraltar and $105/mt to Lisbon, but it is priced $36/mt higher than in Rio Grande.
B30 blends are generally widely available for bunkering in the Gibraltar Strait, but buyers should plan with at least 10 days of lead time.
Singapore’s B30-VLSFO (UCOME) price has gained $24/mt over the past week, overshooting a $7/mt rise in the port’s pure VLSFO benchmark.
“Producers at the end of 2025 had pointed to Singapore as the likely dominant customer of Chinese UCOME through 2026, especially led by demand from the bio-bunkering sector,” Prima added.
Meanwhile, China’s wholesale UCOME market was muted on Thursday amid a lack of demand, Prima Markets said.
Singapore’s B30-VLSFO benchmark has been priced at a $56/mt premium over Fujairah's.
