Maersk operates the 2,100-TEU methanol-capable feeder, Laura Maersk, on a route between the Port of Gdansk on Poland’s Baltic coast and the Port of Bremerhaven on Germany’s North Sea coast.
The vessel forms part of Maersk’s larger methanol-capable fleet, which currently includes 21 vessels in operation and another five on order for delivery by 2027.
European Energy has, meanwhile, secured bridge financing to expand its solar and e-methanol production capacity at Kassø, with the facility expected to produce up to 42,000 mt/year of e-methanol.
