Class society Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore (BV) has granted an Approval in Principle (AiP) to a liquefied CO2 carrier developed by Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI).

The vessel will be able to run on LNG or conventional fuels. Its cargo tanks use a low-pressure containment system built specifically for liquefied CO2.
