The 15,000-TEU vessel, CMA CGM Esmeralda, was officially named in Shanghai and has now been deployed on a shipping route connecting East Asia with the Red Sea.

The firm has recently expanded its alternative-fuel fleet, with a growing number of methanol-capable vessels entering service.

Earlier in April, the company added another methanol dual-fuel vessel, CMA CGM Silver. In March, it also added the methanol dual-fuel vessel CMA CGM Carmen and took delivery of CMA CGM Osmium, strengthening its low-carbon fleet.
