CMA CGM adds new methanol dual-fuel container ship to its fleet

French shipping group CMA CGM has expanded its fleet with the addition of a new methanol dual-fuel container ship, CMA CGM Osmium.

The vessel was officially named in South Korea and is designed to run on both methanol and conventional marine fuels. It is one of 12 methanol dual-fuel ships in a 13,000 TEU series under construction at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in South Korea.

CMA CGM Osmium will operate on the Asia–Mexico route.

Earlier in January, the company also receivedCMA CGM Thorium, another 13,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel vessel.
