Golden Island gears up for methanol bunkering in Singapore

Singapore-based bunker supplier Golden Island says it expects to have four IMO Type II chemical tankers ready to deliver methanol bunker fuel in Singapore by the time its licence comes into effect next year.

The company was one of three firms granted methanol bunkering licences last week by the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA). The licence will run for five years, starting 1 January 2026.

Golden Island expects the Golden Antares, Golden Sirius, Golden Centaurus and Golden Carina to be operational for methanol bunkering in the first quarter of 2026.

“We are excited to begin methanol bunkering for our clients with the newly awarded methanol bunkering licence,” the company said in a social media post.
