Singapore’s bio-bunker and LNG sales slump in April
Singapore sold approximately 2,300 mt/day of bio-bunkers in April, down from around 3,000 mt/day in March, according to preliminary data from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.

Changes in Singapore alternative fuel sales from March to April:
- Bio-VLSFO sales down from 78,000 mt to 49,000 mt
- Bio-LSMGO sales up from 400 mt to 800 mt
- Bio-HSFO sales up from 14,000 mt to 18,000 mt
- B100 sales up from nil to 6,500 mt
- LNG sales down from 49,000 mt to 42,000 mt
Singapore’s bio-blended bunker sales declined sharply in April, falling 26%, to their lowest level since January. Total volumes dropped to 68,000 mt, from 92,000 mt sold in March, and were almost 39% lower than the 111,000 mt recorded in the same month last year.
Of the April total, about 49,000 mt comprised VLSFO blended with biofuel - typically at a 24% blend ratio in Singapore - while 18,000 mt was HSFO, containing a bio component. Bio-LSMGO sales were recorded for the second consecutive month, with approximately 800 mt sold.
LNG sales also fell by 13% in April. Average daily LNG sales declined by around 200 mt to 1,400 mt. Total LNG sales for the month reached nearly 42,000 mt, steady with the same period last year.
Sales of B100 (100% biofuel) were reported for a second time this year, with around 6,500 mt sold in April.
Sales of methanol were not reported for the second consecutive month, while ammonia sales have yet to be recorded this year.
