First truck-to-ship LNG bunkering completed in Tenerife

Ferry operator Baleària’s ferry was bunkered with 600 MWh (39 mt) of LNG in a multi-truck-to-ship operation at the Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in Spain.

Spanish supplier ESK physically delivered the LNG to the ferry, Mercedes Pinto, using two tanker trucks at Anaga Dock.

This was the first LNG bunkering operation conducted by trucks in Tenerife, the port authority said.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife already offers ship-to-ship LNG bunkering. Truck-to-ship and multi-truck-to-ship deliveries will expand its land-based bunkering capabilities to cater to different vessel requirements, it added.
