Keys Azalea is an LNG dual-fuel bunker vessel owned by KEYS and operates across Japan’s Kyushu and Seto Inland Sea regions.
The vessel carried out its first ship-to-ship (STS) LNG bunkering operation in western Japan in April 2024. Since then, it has supplied LNG to a wide range of vessels, including car carriers, bulk carriers transporting iron ore and coal, and cruise ships.
NYK Group operates two dedicated LNG bunkering vessels in Japan: Keys Azalea in western Japan and Kaguya in Ise Bay, eastern Japan. The latest milestone follows Kaguya’s 200th LNG bunkering operation on 30 September.
KEYS is a joint venture between Kyushu Electric Power, shipping line NYK Line, electrical services firm ITOCHU ENEX and gas company Saibu Gas.
