The contracts were signed by CSSC Jiangnan Shipyard and China Shipbuilding Trading and cover the construction of four LNG carriers with a capacity of 175,000 cbm (78,200 mt) each.

The dual-fuel LNG vessels are scheduled for delivery between 2028 and 2029.

Earlier in October, Shell signed a time-charter agreement with Singapore-based maritime transport company Purus for two LNG bunker vessels.

Shell currently operates 14 LNG bunker vessels worldwide. It offers bio-LNG alongside conventional LNG at 22 locations, the company said in a LinkedIn post.
