The UK government has renewed a sanctions waiver for Russian energy major Lukoil’s Bulgarian subsidiaries, extending a general licence that permits them to continue operating until 13 August 2026.

The UK’s Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) has extended the licence covering Lukoil Bulgaria EOOD, Lukoil Neftochim Burgas AD, Lukoil Aviation Bulgaria, and Lukoil Bulgaria Bunker.

The previous licence, issued on 14 November last year, was due to expire on 14 February 2026.

Lukoil Bulgaria, one of the company’s key subsidiaries, is a bunker fuel supplier in the Black Sea region.

The decision comes as Lukoil continues to restructure its international footprint amid sanctions against Russian oil.
